From 10 to 14 August 2011 the first ever Pride took place in the City of Prague. The five-day cultural and human rights festival consisted of colorful events such as theatre and movie performances, photo exhibitions, public debates, expert debates, book readings, as well as entertainment.

Brussels: On June 28, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) launched two reports highlighting the human rights situation of persons in institutions in Europe and Central Asia.

UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences, Rashida Manjoo, is visiting Brussels to meet with various EU interlocutors and Women’s Rights Organizations.

On 5-6 April 2011, the Regional Office for Europe co-hosted the Annual Meeting of the Inter-Agency Panel on Juvenile Justice – which consists of 13 UN agencies and NGOs active in the area of juvenile justice.

During her one-day visit to Brussels on the 23rd of February, UN High Commissioner Navi Pillay held a series of meetings with various EU counterparts.

On 10 February 2011 the Regional Office for Europe of OHCHR launched its first publication during a workshop on the Prohibition of Incitement to Hatred that took place in Vienna.
