Global Alliance for Human Rights - Join the call
Human rights are a promise: a promise of dignity, justice and fair progress for everyone, everywhere.
Yet, violations continue with impunity, violence is becoming normalized, and civic space is shrinking.
At the same time, people around the world are stepping up for equality, justice and our shared humanity. They are striving for a world where governments are accountable, societies are inclusive, economies are fair, innovation puts people first, and respect shapes relationships between people and with the planet we share.
Why an Alliance?
No single person, organization or country can fulfil the promise of human rights alone.
Convened by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the Global Alliance for Human Rights is a multi-stakeholder, cross-regional mobilization that connects people across sectors and generations. Its purpose is to mobilize leadership, align resources, and rebuild trust in human rights as a practical force that improves lives, sustains peace and drives sustainable development.
Anchored in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and building towards its 80th anniversary in 2028, the Alliance seeks to inspire hope, strengthen collaboration and generate collective action for human rights. Together, we can imagine how to carry human rights into the next 80-year chapter.
By bringing together innovative ideas and collective action, the Alliance will drive catalytic and measurable change through four strategic pathways.
