The United Nations Human Rights Regional Office for Europe and the International Labour Organization’s Office for the EU and the Benelux countries are pleased to invite you to the upcoming Human Rights Talk on “Ensuring adequate minimum income, a matter of human rights”.
The event will take place on Wednesday 27 September 2023 from 11:00 to 12:30 at the UN House in Brussels and will bring together the UN Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, representatives from international organizations, EU institutions, the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, trade unions and civil society organizations. A light lunch will be offered after the event.
This is the third in a series of Human Rights Talks that the UN Human Rights Office is organizing throughout the year as part of Human Rights 75 – the global initiative celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. To mark the thematic spotlight placed on social protection, sustainable development, and the right to development in September, and in light of the priorities put forth by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU in this area, the Human Rights Talk will focus on ensuring adequate minimum income and, in this context, reducing non-take up of rights. You will find the programme of the event below. Please note that participation in this event is restricted and by invitation only. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. SOLD OUT.
